POKEWORKS OPENS 5TH LOCATION IN BOSTON AREA – WATERTOWN, MA

Watertown added another eatery to the local restaurant scene this week, featuring Hawaiian-inspired poke bowls and burritos. See the announcement provided by Pokeworks:

On Sept. 8, Boston neighborhood foodies lined up to celebrate the grand opening of Pokeworks, the nation’s leading premium fast-casual poke destination. Opened by local entrepreneur Mandy Li, the new spot is located in the Arsenal Yards smart growth development at 109 Bond Square, and will offer a fresh take on Hawaiian-inspired poke bowls and burritos with a customizable menu and convenient online ordering options for pickup or delivery via web or loyalty app.

To celebrate the grand opening, the new location offered a free poke bowl to the first 100 customers.

The owner first found her entrepreneurial spirit while living in China, where she decided to start her own event planning company. In this position Li found herself traveling a lot, and trying a wide variety of food from around the world. It was in Hawaii that Li had poke for the first time, and was excited to taste some authentic Japanese food. It was when she saw the passion and care that goes into Pokeworks’ products that she realized that this was something she wanted to be able to bring to the area.

“Poke lovers of Boston will quickly come to find that Pokeworks is substantially different than your typical fast-casual restaurant,” said Li. “Our premium seafood, fresh toppings, and house-made sauces along with our flexible ‘Poke Your Way’ approach to the menu make Pokeworks an ideal lunch or dinnertime option for the community’s discerning residents and professionals.”

Founded in 2015 with its first location in Midtown Manhattan, Pokeworks has continued to build momentum by providing the highest quality poke and aloha hospitality to meet the growing demand generated by poke’s increasing mainland popularity.

Inspired by sustainable, seasonal, and natural ingredients, Pokeworks believes in the importance of catering to today’s tastes while preserving our oceans for tomorrow. Guests with dietary restrictions—including those maintaining gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan, as well as cooked or raw protein diets—can build their own poke bowls, burritos or salads by selecting a base protein of tuna, salmon, chicken, shrimp, or tofu then piling on freshly prepared mix-ins, flavorful sauces, and unique “crunch” toppings for the perfect amount of texture.

“Pokeworks began with nine founders who shared a vision to create a concept that delivers fresh, healthy and delicious poke to all, and have grown from one location in Manhattan to over sixty locations worldwide in just five years,” said Steve Heeley, CEO of Pokeworks. “We strive to continue to innovate, grow, and improve our brand vision, and that is why we are thrilled to welcome Mandy Li to our team to help carry our vision in Boston.”

Pokeworks of Watertown is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day of the week. For more information on Pokeworks of Watertown, call 617-744-1090 or visit pokeworks.com.
